Miranda vs Cleveland

Don't worry. Miranda always wins. My coworkers first thought it was silly that I CHOSE to ride my bike to work every day. Now, with "Lake effect" winter storm warnings on the news every other night, they think I'm crazy to keep riding in. The fact of the matter is this. I enjoy exercise. I am poor. If I didn't ride to work, I would spend another 30-50 min. jogging in this cold.... so why not be productive with my time and let my exercise take me places. Like to work in the morning and home at night. Nuff said. Bike on.

Hey- who knows what to do for gears that freeze? That's one royal pain of this whole biking business.

Also noteworthy: I am some sort of a gardening success story. My christmas cactus has not bloomed in over 2 years... low and behold, maybe the move to Cleveland helped it change its tune.

Jared bought me flowers for our wedding anniversary Saturday:

I had my eye examined by an iridologist. I thought I was a pretty healthy person. Well, guess who was mistaken. I have a toxic liver. My immune system is weak. My pH is off balance, and my thyroid could be better. Huh. Now, there's no real science behind iridology, so I don't know how much stock to put in this woman's diagnosis, but I'm interested enough to try a few things she mentioned, and was fascinated by the conversation. How does my eye look to you?

Here's some pics from a trip to the cemetery a while back. The place is massive, and its pretty famous. President Garfield has a huge memorial there. We even got locked in. Some favs and then a collage.

Way to keep riding in the winter!

I haven't seen the Twilight movie. I am not so sure that I really want to. While I enjoyed the books, I don't feel that there was a lot of depth to them. But, I may change my mind and go see the movie. I just haven't decided yet.

It makes me really happy that you updated your blog. I have been patiently awaiting this day, so thank you. And what the heck is an iridologist?!

My roommate took a Blow Dryer to her bike gears so that she could ride to work in the winter. There is probably a better solution, however...like the stuff they put in your car to keep things from freezing. Maybe squirt some sort of oil on the gears that has a lower freezing point.

Hey there,
So it's been forever, what in the flip-ity-flip are you doing in Cleavland? Did you know that Josh was born there (and that's why it rocks)?

Ironically, I also have a Christmas cactus, Josh got it for me for our 1 year 11 month-aversary. I hope mine will bloom out here in UT!

Yay for blog updates! I have never heard of iridology, which surprises me as Jason's family is all about homeopathic/alternative medicine. Funny that he's going to be a LISENCED optometrist. I will have to ask him if he's ever heard of it. I was once told by his mother, after she did reflexology on my feet, that my callus was due to a bad kidney. I thought it was because I often walk around barefoot.

Oh, and my friend has a Christmas cactus that never bloomed in Utah, but has done splendid out here in Memphis. Hmmm...
