When Max was born, and back when graduation was something I was looking forward to (and it normally is, but now it just means that I'll officially be unemployed), I told myself that by the time I graduated I would have a six month old. And it was so hard to imagine. But here we are, graduating law school (on the 15th) with a six-month old kid.
The only thing that may be different than what I would have imagined all those six months ago is that Max would've had a less fussy temperament. I guess I can't blame him. It seems like his teeth have been on the brink of cutting for two months, hiding barely beneath the surface of his gums. At least with the way he screams, you'd think so. And so we cherish the happy times, and for the fussy times, we get creative for ways to take his mind off fussin.
One of his favorite things is to join the cat in glaring out the window and staring at cars:
Additional baths are also something that he seems to enjoy. Whether they are to distract him, or to clean off his now-solid bowel movements when normal wipes are insufficient, he enjoys them nonetheless.
Max also likes watching animals. It's taken him a while, but he's warmed up to the cat, and likes just watching him. So we thought he'd like the zoo. His favorite was the cat/fish/primate exhibit (seriously, one building houses the cats, fish and primates--not sure why):
Miranda killed a race on the day of my last final. She finished first in her age group and second among all women. Max celebrated by eating her medal.
But like I said, this little guy is not without good moods:

SOOO cute! We are loving the 6 month stage as well, although we have been blessed thus far: teething hasn't reared it's ugly face just yet. Here's so hoping that lasts as long as possible! I had someone tell me if you can tell the teeth are close to breaking through, just right under the surface, take a (sanitized) penny and run it over the top of their gums and it instantly cuts their teeth through. Good luck!
And I had never thought of giving him a bath in his Bumbo but I may have to try that now. He loves his Bumbo and baths so that sounds like the perfect combination.
What an adorable little boy! I love his giggle and I love his little baby fat rolls! His mouth also has this cute shape when he smiles. Such a joy! Jared, I love your commentary. Great stuff. Sure wish you all lived closer, but we appreciate the pictures and videos!
Miranda, you told me you ran a race not absolutely conquered it!! Good job!
Jared, congrats on graduating. One day i hope to know how that feels.
Love it you guys!! And congrats on the big week Jared! I hope for at least a weekend you can forget about the "un-employed" title and just feel good about your accomplishment. And of course Max is adorable. Good luck with the teething. It's a joy for sure.
Max has a very cute smile and I loved the rolls on his whole body. Adorable! Hope the teeth come soon, but it comes in phases.
